The second meeting was on the 6th, at another track 15kms away, on the top of a mountain in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
Again the racing was keen, but Scott confirmed his supremacy, and again beat all comers.
The final meeting was held on Tuesday 8th,which is a bank holiday in Spain, at Ronnie Renders track run by Scott Eastwood. Here Scott failed to finish, breaking the main shaft in the gear box, whilst leading the race, letting Jan win a race at last. Difficult to believe but the photo shows Scott looking for shade!
This series of meetings was a great chance for English riders to get some European experience, as there were races for twin shocks, as well as classic motocross. Also ladies and modern motocross, which Mark Eastwood won.
Vic Vaughan had great satisfaction seeing Scott do his bikes justice, but also the chance to relive the old days with Vic and Ann Eastwood in the sun.
If anyone is interested in entering, and wants to know about the meetings, contact Vic Vaughan(classic) or Dennis Slythe
( twin shock). There is some talk of a meeting in February, watch out for further news.

DECEMBER 2009:
Faber Team Success in Spain.
The idea of a sunshine break in December, in Spain with the chance of three motocross meetings, sounds like a dream, especially with the frantic Christmas period looming, but this year it was real.
Many riders from all across Europe made the trek south to Spain, including the new British champion, Scott Hayworth, and there was some great racing to be had. Scott was riding Vic Vaughan's Faber BSA , and beat the opposition on every opportunity.
The first meeting on 5th December, was held in the grounds of Guillem Palleja's castle, yes thats right, a castle, on a track that Guillem built himself.
Scott was battling it out with the Danish rider, Jan Willem Nielson, and easily won.

Saturday 24th April 2010 saw the first round of the European Classic Motocross in the Czech Republic. The meeting was in the beautiful countryside of Moravia, east of Brno. This is an area that some older riders know, as the track at Prerov has been hosting grandprix since the 1960s, when Smith, banks, Lundin and Roger de Costa were racing.
The track was a typical hard continental track with plenty of jumps and drop-offs, but the English revelled in the challenge, showing that we don't just do well on grass! Terry Challinor (Triumph/Metisse) and Scott Hayworth (Faber/ PES-BSA) dominated their classes, and have built up a lead in their bids to become European Champions in 2010.
In the 66+ class, the battle between Jan Kaiser and Terry was eagerly anticipated by all, but Terry led Kaiser in both to take maximum points. Rodney Ralph had a very good 1st race , but had a step off in the 2nd.
Roger Dunford had an excellent day in the 60+ class, finishing 4th overall, after a 3rd and a 5th,and Gerald and Rupert Coppins flew the flag in the 50+ class.
Riding in his first individual European Championship, Scott Hayworth confirmed his reputation built last year, by winning both his races. Tim Manton had 2 good races to be 6th overall, and Keith Best is 11th, after technical problems and a step off.

This year 15 countries were represented and the results show all classes were hotly contested. It is all set for the next round on 22nd May at Neiden in Germany.
